Colorado State University Graduation Portraits

Colorado State University Graduation Portraits

Congratulations to Colorado State University’s Class of 2022! You’re almost there!

After years of hard work, surviving a global pandemic, and countless all nighters, you have finally reached the finish line. It’s time for you to move your tassel to the left, fling your cap into the air, and take flight on your next big plan in life. This is a HUGE milestone, and as such you deserve to commemorate it with graduation portraits that will last a lifetime.

College Graduation Portraits at CSU’s Oval

Colorado State University is not only an amazing school, but the campus is absolutely gorgeous–making it a very appealing backdrop for graduation pictures! Photography sessions can take place virtually anywhere on the vast grounds, but my personal favorite location is Colorado State’s beautiful Oval. The lush oak trees standing tall around you is a classic CSU look, perfectly reflecting your growth over the past few years. Standing at the center of the path, you can see the metaphoric road behind you that you’ve just crossed, and the stretch before you symbolizes all the incredible journeys to come. The administration building also lies in close proximity, along with many other classy and historical bits of architecture. You can’t beat those stairs or tall pillars!

Ideas to Make College Graduation Photos Extra Fun

While of course you want to have a few elegant shots taken for your college graduation photos, you want your portraits to represent the FUN you had at university too! Hashtag college life, am I right? I am open to any exciting ideas you have–I love seeing what clients come up with! To get your creative juices flowing, here are some thoughts on ways to make your Colorado State graduation portraits extra personalized and lively:

★    Break out the bubbly! There are few things that look as celebratory as breaking out some champagne or cider and spraying it all around.

★    Make a custom sign. They can be as modern or rustic as you like, and have as little or as much information on them as you want! Common pieces of information to display are the year and your major(s). These signs can be handmade by you, or you can find people to make a variety of signs on marketplaces like Etsy. The poses you can do with them are endless!

★    Toss balloons or throw confetti. Graduating deserves a party! What better way to acknowledge your milestone than with balloons falling on you? Blowing confetti–or even bubbles–always looks aesthetically pleasing when done right!

★    Dress in your future work attire. This idea is fun and very personal! Throw on some scrubs or button up your uniform, using props to be as silly or serious as you want to be.

★    Throw your cap! This is self explanatory and a classic!

★    Hold a picture of you from Kindergarten. One of the more nostalgic and sentimental portrait ideas–one that will surely melt the hearts of your elderly family members. It’s the perfect way to remind yourself where you started and how far you have come.

★    Jump for joy! Literally! Throw your hands up and jump in the air. For another twist, you can break out your best dance moves. Have fun! Graduating university is an amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

★    Ask your friends to join in. Who was with you at the Lory Student Center or flipping through piles of books at Morgan’s Grind? Don’t exclude all the friends who journeyed to the cube with you all hours of the night–have then join in on the pictures with you!
