The YMCA of the Rockies is located in Estes Park is a great place for outdoor mountain wedding photography. The property is very large and is surrounded by beautiful trees and mountain scenery. I photographed a wedding at the YMCA of the Rockies for Tyson and Laura. When I arrived at the YMCA of the Rockies, I first met with the bride and bridesmaids at the bride’s cabin. At the cabin, I photographed Laura getting ready and I also took photos of her dress and shores. When the bride and bridesmaids were ready, we went outside and took some creative group portraits. Then we all drove to the front entrance of the YMCA where these is a beautiful pond surrounded by trees. After I took portraits of everyone at the pond, I left to meet with the groom and groomsman by the ceremony site. I took some fun portraits of the guys, just being themselves.
The wedding ceremony site consisted of stadium style seating which provided plenty of room for all of the guests. During the wedding ceremony, I was able to photograph the bride and groom from many different vantage points. After the ceremony, I photographed traditional wedding portraits of the bridal party and photos of family members. After all of the post ceremony wedding photography was completed, the ceremony began in the main hall.
The best thing about the YMCA is that you’re surrounded by nature. Also, it is fun for the bridal party to arrive a day before the wedding and enjoy the mountains and staying overnight in the many cabins at the YMCA of the Rockies.
